Thailand is still a LOT safer then many European countries I know. Unfortunately the recent happenings in Thailand may give you a set back in buying a trip to Thailand. (Or Malaysia I run also this pangkor website).

Thye main question you have to ask yourself is this: After the bombing of the WTC in New York, would you visit New York? After the Gas attacks in the Tokyo metro, would you still visit Tokyo? After the bombing in London, would you still visit London? Ofcourse you would. SO please do not let these attacks distrackt you from coming to South Thailand or Malaysia (Malaysia has completely nothing to do with the attacks in Thailand).

And what about the takeover by the Thai military? I was at the day of the coupe in Bangkok. Apart of some military activity around the parliament buildings, there was nothing going on. Don’t play stupid, if you were thinking of Thailand as your next holiday destination, keep the idea and come and enjoy this lovely country.

I don’t have children so it would be foolish to tell you how great it is to visit Pulau Pangkor with your children. However, Nazlina cam, saw and conquered Pangkor with her kids, 4 and 8 years old. She can tell you exactly how much fun it is to come and stay here.

Here’s her story: A Pangkor vacation with children

The Dinding river has a long history in Malaysia. However, these days people take the river for granted as few, unfortunately, stay in Lumut more then a night (if they stay). The Dinding river however has a wonderful afternoon (or morning) boat journey to do. It’s possible to find absolute peace and harmony in the mangrove jungle in the river arms. Highly recommended as I did it a few weeks ago and loved it. In fact, if you choose to do a little boat ride in the river, good chance you find me on the boat too.
